Support to Healthcare Providers

GPs, Medical Centres, Hospitals, Hospices

Each of us is more than just physical. The health of our inner self can affect our well-being in every other aspect.

We provide formal Listening services, Wellbeing Ambassadors and Chaplains to support the work of the medical establishment in caring for people. Our aim is always to collaboratively discover the best way to support and serve the organisation to provide excellent care for patients, families and staff.

Patients understand that this is not counselling but a safe place to talk and share their difficulties.

Lead GP

Hospices

This may include training volunteers or staff in high-level listening skills, providing Chaplains to visit the patients and their families on request, or providing Listening services for the staff. We can also provide support in creating and resourcing a Reflective Room for patients and families, leading memorial services and assistance in the creation of ‘Light up a Life’ services.

Health centres

We provide formal listening services, funded through the ARRS roles, to support the work of the Practice staff, taking referrals from the GPs and providing an additional support to patients who need it. GP surgeries have an overwhelming amount of work and patients to attend to and it can be a challenge to find the time for patients who need emotional or personal support. Through our service, patients have access to an individual with the time and skills to listen to them, and we support the Practice in their provision of holistic patient care, supplementing and complementing other service provision such as IAPT.

We can also provide a Chaplain to visit on a regular basis, providing opportunity for staff to pause in an otherwise hectic day.

Our Wellbeing Ambassadors are non-clinical buddies working with the NHS, supporting people in crisis centres such as A&E, the Decisions Unit and Sheffield Support Hub. Wellbeing Ambassadors are trained as Listeners with an emphasis on a holistic approach and they receive additional training in mental health and wellbeing.

We’re here to help.

If you are interested in any of our support or training services, please contact us. We will arrange to visit you to discuss what works best for you.
