After serving the South Yorkshire Chaplaincy & Listening Service for seven years, our dedicated Chairman, Tony Pedder OBE, has retired from the Board of Trustees as of 31st December. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Tony for his many hours of support, expertise and guidance, as well as the wisdom and leadership with which he has steered the Board. His steadfast commitment to the shared values and mission of SYCLS since its inception in 2017 has been a continual source of strength of encouragement to us all.
Tony reflects on our journey over the last 7 years and the initial vision held by him and the late Peter Birtles, another of SYCLS founders:
“Please pass on my thanks to Board colleagues and all the SYCLS team for all that you have done and continue to do to turn the vision Peter and I had, into reality. Like me, he would be so proud of your achievements and amazed at the way you have taken our vision and built it into something so significant for so many people who benefit from what SYCLS offers.”
“SYCLS has a really solid framework of good practice and governance, which should stand you in good stead as you move forward – which you undoubtedly will.”
Tony Pedder OBE
This leaves us to say one last big thank you to Tony as outgoing Chair, and wish him all the very best for the future as he embarks on a new journey with South Yorkshire Charity Mentors. Gratitude & recognition for Tony’s efforts will remain with us as SYCLS continues to grow and flourish,
Love Baz, Linda & the SYCLS team.
