We have volunteer Chaplains visiting many different settings. Our Chaplains provide a listening ear, encouraging word and a supportive act. They are compassionate, caring and independent and are there to support staff, patients or clients, many of whom are in times of stress, anxiety or crisis. People are confident using our service because we have volunteers from many different Christian denominations.
South Yorkshire Chaplaincy & Listening Service is recruiting more volunteer Chaplains. We would love to hear from you, if you are a kind, compassionate and caring person with time and willingness to sit with people and support them in difficult times.
We are particularly looking for people who would join our fire service chaplain team or our school chaplain team. We also have some limited opportunities for chaplains in hospices.
Our voluntary roles are open to anyone of faith, inspired by the prospect of serving and supporting others. Our Chaplains offer pastoral, spiritual, and where appropriate, religious care (to staff/patients or volunteers) within an organisation, regardless of faith background and stance and where appropriate will happily signpost if the person is of a different faith.
Full Chaplaincy Training is given and ordination is not necessary.
