Join our Children’s Services Team (This role has now been filled!)

We are looking for a fabulous Listener to join our growing Children’s Listening Team. The post-holder will be providing an on-site 1-1 Listening Service for primary-aged children at primary schools across Sheffield. The post-holder must be a compassionate and empathic listener, with a passion for SYCLS ethos and values, and an understanding of how to create an environment which allows children to feel comfortable to share.

Since piloting a small, voluntary, service at 1 primary school in 2020, demand for our Children’s Services has grown to its current position of supporting 15 schools. Our services provide a safe space for children to process their thoughts and feelings, be understood and identify strategies to build resilience: our fun sessions provide early intervention for children showing low level signs of anxiety and distress, to support their emotional well-being. Providing a Siblings Service for siblings of children with special educational needs, and a Bereavement Service for children experiencing bereavement through death, separation or long-term illness, our small team have a passion and desire to support children facing a range of life challenges.

Please see the attached Job Outline for further details and information on how to apply. Deadline for all applications: Thursday 9th March 12noon.
